For a numerous amount of years now, the local police combine with the Tri-County unit has set up their forces in rutland during each event that our legitimate business holds. At each event we have, numerous amounts of people ( clients ) coming to our business ( from all over the WORLD ) in order to help support and grow, not only our business, but the local community. We get complaints about police harassment, profiling, and unnecessary police engagement. More and more people don’t want to come because of this. The local small businesses also have complaints about the police behaviors, because it decreases their overall ability to run their businesses. This profiling has been going on for years and has limited the amount of people that want to come experience and enjoy the festival that we hold. Thus, it decreases the amount of revenue brought into the local community and moral standards. It also decreases our ability to take care of ourselves through our small business. This is a direct attack on innocent people through guilt by association because they happen to be attending one of the festivals we hold. It is uncalled for, unnecessary, and unjustified. We are setting up this petition to issue a cease-and-desist order so that the local police and or the tri-county unit stops there outlandish behavior towards our community and clients that are trying to build something better. We will be taking this petition directly to the city Council, and issuing a formal complaint for the first time in October. If you have experienced such behaviors from the local police officers and wish to help support this please sign this petition and or send us as much information that you have so that we can prove that this is been going on whether it be video, audio, or written statements like tickets etc. The Skatopia family thanks you for your help to stop this!!!
